Perspective

In a world where we are expected to be strong, capable, and independent—seeking help may feel uncomfortable, weak, or shameful. The truth is that everyone needs someone to listen and help us to see life from a fresh perspective when challenges arise. This does not make you weak; this makes you human. My approach to therapy is person- centered, strength- based and solution -focused. We will work together to establish goals that are important to you in order to gain control over emotions, discern truth from lies, and build & maintain healthy relationships with others and ourselves.

ABOUT

My approach to therapy is unconventional and relaxed. I would love to meet you at your best, but warmly welcome you at your worst.

I have worked with individuals who have been desperate, addicted, broken, overwhelmed, homeless, angry, in deep grief, traumatized, anxious, jobless, unsure, court- ordered, depressed, scared…. and I have witnessed these same people overcome these challenges to find freedom from them.

I have experience working with adults, adolescents and families for over a decade. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving others at a local non- profit agency, within the public school system (specifically in Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth program and Special Education classrooms), and in private practice. I currently teach social work & sociology courses as an adjunct professor at Misericordia University.

My current passion is for women during pregnancy and the postpartum period; those experiencing trauma (past or present) and for individuals and families within the faith community. While wildly different, these specific areas are my area of focus at this time.

* Faith based counseling offers a unique therapeutic perspective that can be either a small or large part of our work together (depending on your comfort level). This perspective seeks to integrate Biblical principles into client- established counseling goals and will be offered to those individuals looking for a faith perspective to therapy.
